AmeriCorp, Inc. Starts Transition Process toward ISO Certification and World-Class Quality Management
Syosset, NY - June 10, 2002

AmeriCorp, Inc. today announced the beginning transition of its internal quality management system to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, is a worldwide federation of national standard bodies from over 130 countries. The organization was founded in 1946 to develop a common set of manufacturing, trade and communication standards for the post-war international community. ISO has brought about many international agreements that have established worldwide standards in such categories as film speed, freight containers, paper sizes, codes for country names, currencies and languages and so on.

ISO 9000 is a series of standards applicable to quality management, and only companies that are intent upon providing the highest quality of products and services will undergo the lengthy and demanding process of adapting these standards. Hundreds of thousands of international companies have made the transition and have realized billions of dollars in savings through the elimination of costs that do not contribute to quality. Their product quality and productivity have benefited tremendously, and this result has translated into substantial increases in their customer satisfaction quotients. AmeriCorp, with its eye on this high plateau of performance, has scheduled preliminary meetings with the ISO representatives commencing in September of this year. Following these management briefings, AmeriCorp will begin a rigorous series of internal and external audits aimed at establishing standards that consistently meet or exceed its clients' expectations.
