AmeriCorp Inc. Introduces "INFO LINK" On-Line Internet Access for Clients
Syosset, NY - June 3, 2002

Effective today, AmeriCorp Inc. has arranged on-line access to account information for the clients of all the non-profit counseling firms that it services. Any client with Internet access can view their account details "24/7." For security purposes, the client must know their client id number and password to successfully enter the database. Besides requiring individual user authentication, AmeriCorp has put electronic safeguards in place to protect the interchange of information. Data sent to and from the web site and database is encrypted, and the site itself is protected by a multi-level firewall. Intrusion detection technology actively monitors the network and web servers for any unauthorized or unusual activities.

Once they have gained proper access, the clients can verify their creditor account information or confirm that their latest payment has arrived safely. The clients can see when their counseling firm has disbursed payments to the various creditors, or they can interactively update their personal information and check electronic fund transfer data for accuracy. If any questions remain after the "INFO LINK" session, the client can inquire via a direct e-mail link between the web site and customer service.

AmeriCorp's latest innovation accommodates the increasing number of consumers who prefer Internet transactions or are seeking time-management solutions from their service providers. Often, time-consuming phone calls are made in an effort to verify the very information that is readily viewable on the agency web sites. These calls are no longer necessary, and "INFO LINK" opens channels to clients whose hours do not coincide with the normal customer service schedule of the AmeriCorp call center. Ideally, the new form of access will further assist clients by freeing customer service for quicker responses to the more complex issues of debt management. Looking to the future, AmeriCorp is collaborating with CreditSoft, its software provider, to increase the amount of information available to clients via the Internet and to deepen the interactive capabilities of the web sites.
