AmeriCorp's
3rd Annual Values Day Another year has passed, and once again AmeriCorp’s people took time to celebrate the values that have guided the conduct of their business. The employees always look forward to these annual festivities, not only as an occasion for communal fun and food, but also as a time for reflection on the standards we have chosen for ourselves. For AmeriCorp’s Corporate Values were not imposed on the people who work here; rather, middle management took the time to identify and articulate working ideals that were already in operation. Published for all to see, the values have been a rallying point in our efforts to constantly improve the execution of our quality policy. After a hearty kick-off breakfast, in which several employees spoke
about what the values meant to them personally, the nine teams (each
named traditionally for one of the values) went their separate ways
to a cycle of activities that had been designed to symbolize the values
in action. Some of last year’s games were reprised; but new activities
included Taboo (Communication), Mind Trap & 3-D puzzles (Motivation),
Karaoke (Pride), et.al. Overall it was a wonderful mixture of adrenalin,
thought, and community. If you click on the “About Us” section
of this website, you can get more details on AmeriCorp’s self-identity
and mission, as well as a complete listing and definition of the values
we celebrate.
